March 17-22, Prof. FAN Pingzhi, Vice-President of SWJTU visited United Kingdom by inivitations of University of Leeds, University of Bradford and Brunel University. This visit aims at improving cooperation between SWJTU and universities in United Kingdom.

During the visit to University of Leeds, Prof. FAN held meeting with Prof. Michael Arthur, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds and representatives from International Affairs Office and academic schools at University of Leeds. Prof. FAN expressed that SWJTU has alwasy paid attention to the cooperation with universities in UK, and both University of Leeds and SWJTU shared strong advantage in engineering fields. Based upon international cooperation, Prof. FAN highlighted that, two universities could improve status in engineering fields in the world. Prof. Michael Arthur welcomed SWJTU delegation, and hoped two universities could soon open up program exchange activities in the near future.

Duriing visits to University of Bradford and Brunel University, Prof.FAN held meetings with university leadships and faculty members respectively. SWJTU expressed strong interests in constructing cooperation with University of Bradford and Brunel University in terms of student and faculty exchange and joint research.
